It started when...

Tim Thornton and Trystan-Ross Williams met studying jazz at Birmingham Conservatoire in 2007. Simply put, Karve is a pop-up during which a ridiculously  good tasting menu is accompanied by live, original jazz. Like a drinks pairing, but with jazz.

Tim Thornton is a multi award-winning jazz bassist. He has travelled worldwide, playing alongside musical greats such as Guy Barker MBE and Julian Bliss and has also supported George Benson. He has released two albums and continues to tour. To hear some of his latest record visit our Music section.

Trystan Williams, is Senior Sous Chef at Murano by Angela Hartnett. He has also worked at Michelin-starred The Sir Charles Napier in Oxford and double-starred, Restaurant Sat Bains. Trys and his team will create a menu reflecting his passion for low-waste cooking whilst using challenging ingredients and incorporating proper pastry work.

The final piece of the puzzle is Amy Newbury, who brings each event together by planning, managing and creating. She currently works with Tom Sellers and Restaurant Story as Business Development and for Karve, works to make sure that every guest and member of staff has a brilliant time.
